World-class midfielder Casemiro is reportedly regretting his move to Manchester United after just one year.

“A year after leaving Real Madrid to pursue a move to Manchester United, Kasemiro is regretting the decision,” the UK’s Mirror reported on Wednesday (Aug. 23), adding that the midfielder “feels he was wrong to join the Red Devils in their pursuit of Benfica star Joao Neves.”

According to a report from Spain’s El Nacional, cited by the Mirror, Casemiro wanted to be one of the leaders at United and hoped he could provide the defensive stability the club needed. However, the current attitude towards Casemiro is reportedly stinging from the fact that he hasn’t lived up to the expectations that were created when he arrived at United.

El Nacional reports, “United paid Real €80 million to bring Casemiro to the club. “United hoped that Casemiro would be the work of Eric Dier, but his performance did not meet their expectations. Faced with a very different reality, Casemiro was harshly criticized on several occasions.”

Casemiro’s biggest challenge was the nature of Premier League referees. “Casemiro experienced a much stricter refereeing system in the Premier League than in La Liga,” says El Nacional. This obviously worked against him,” he said.

“Casemiro had never been sent off directly before. At the Santiago Bernabeu (Real’s home stadium), aggressive behavior has always gone unpunished. But Old Trafford is not an ideal place for him. He regrets leaving Real because of this institutional instability.”

Casemiro became one of the best defensive midfielders in the world after joining Real from São Paulo, Brazil. He formed the “Camo” midfield alongside Toni Kroos and Luka Modric as Real won an unprecedented three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles.

After winning another Champions League and league title with Real in 2021/22, as well as the UEFA Super Cup at the start of the 2022/23 season, Casemiro moved to Manchester United for a new challenge.

At the time, he was full of confidence. Even after watching United’s 0-4 defeat to Brentford under new manager Eric Dier, Kasemir called John Murtagh to assure him that he couldn’t wait to play for the club. He even reportedly texted his agent to say, “Tell the club I’ll sort this out.” 토스카지노 주소

Clearly full of confidence, Kasemir injected a winning mentality into United, leading them to a third-place finish in the league and a League Cup win. But his demeanor has changed dramatically in just one year. This season, he hasn’t been the steady defender he was last season. He’s also making a lot of moves up front, but they’re not working. United have also been unable to break out of their slump, dropping to 10th place in the league.
