Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Luka Modric will not be leaving Real Madrid.

“Ancelotti said that Modric will not leave Real in January next year,” European soccer transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano reported on his social media accounts on Thursday (June 6).

According to Romano, Ancelotti said, “There is no chance of Modric leaving in January. He doesn’t want to leave and we are very happy about that. He thinks he is an important player for Real. So do I.”

“Modric is not happy about his playing time, but I talk to him every day. He is motivated. There is no one like him in the locker room. He is a leader and his presence is very important for Real.”

Modric is 38 years old and in the twilight of his football career. Real have undergone a generational change with young midfielders such as Aurélien Chouameny, Jude Bellingham, Federico Valverde and Eduardo Camabinga. Modric has mostly been a substitute this season. Whenever he’s been on the field, he’s shown that he can hold his own against younger options.

Modric is one of the best midfielders in the world. He’s been considered a midfield genius since his time at Tottenham. He has good technique and adds creativity to the attack. He started out as a winger, but soared when he moved to midfield. In the 2010-11 season, he was named Tottenham’s Player of the Year. Modric was linked with several clubs before joining Real in the 2012-13 season.

Since joining Real, Modric has become one of the best midfielders in the world. He played alongside Mesut Özil in the attack and made sharp passes. When Özil left for Arsenal, Modric became a regular starter. Modric became an integral part of the Real midfield and won the UEFA Champions League (UCL) in 2013-14.

Then, in 2015-16, Real completed their most dominant midfield ever. The previous season, when Toni Kroos joined Real from Bayern Munich and Casemiro returned from his loan spell at FC Porto, Kroos, Casemiro, and Modric came together to form a formidable midfield combination commonly referred to as “Camo”. 스포츠토토

Casemiro, Kroos, and Modric took Real to the top of Europe. They lifted the big one in the 2015-16 UCL final, beating local rivals Atletico Madrid. They went on to win back-to-back titles in 2016-17 and 2017-18, setting a record of three consecutive UCL titles. Casemiro, Kroos, and Modric maintained their form and won another UCL title in 2021-22.

Modric also performed miracles for the Croatian national team. At the 2018 World Cup in Russia, they topped Group D and advanced to the round of 16, beating Argentina. Croatia went on to defeat Denmark, Russia, and England to reach the final. Although they lost to France, it was the best World Cup finish in Croatian soccer history. Modric was awarded the 2018 World Cup Golden Ball and became a 2018 Ballon d’Or winner.
