Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min is on the top of Liverpool fans’ radar.

‘Liverpool.com’, which specializes in Liverpool news, displayed a large photo of Son Heung-min on its main page on the 29th (KST). With Liverpool and Tottenham’s match just one day away, it’s almost as if they’ve put out an APB.

Tottenham will welcome Liverpool to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Oct. 1 at 1:30 a.m. kickoff. It’s the seventh round of the 2023-2024 Premier League season. Through six rounds, Liverpool is unbeaten with five wins and one draw, while Tottenham has four wins and two draws.

Last season, Tottenham lost both games to Liverpool. The last time Tottenham beat Liverpool was on October 23, 2017 in the Premier League (4-1 win). Son Heung-min scored a goal in that match. In the six years since, there have been three draws and nine defeats.

But this time, the atmosphere is different. Tottenham’s rise has been unexpected. Liverpool.com claimed that the Reds are set to meet with Son Heung-min, who they once considered signing, this weekend.

‘When the Reds sold Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich, Son was seen as a possible successor,’ says Liverpool.com. Jürgen Klopp was looking for a striker who could score goals in the final third, and it wasn’t easy to find. We decided to bring Son Heung-min,” he said.

Liverpool’s dreams were dashed when Tottenham dramatically stayed in the top four. There was no way Tottenham would sell Son after returning to the Champions League. 메이저놀이터

‘Heung-min has represented Tottenham since 2015,’ said Liverpool.com. ‘Klopp has always been interested in him. Since coming to the Premier League, Heung-min has established himself as one of the best strikers in Europe. He’s fast, injury-free, and two-footed. Liverpool saw him as a replacement for Mane,” he said.

Liverpool have since signed Darwin Núñez.

Liverpool.com hoped that they would not regret choosing Núñez over Heung-min. ‘We don’t yet know who will be in the spotlight (Heung-min or Nunes), but Klopp will be hoping Nunes can justify his decision,’ said Liverpool.com, wishing Nunes well.
