English professional soccer Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, 52, has recovered and returned to the team after undergoing back surgery, the club said on its website on Wednesday (local time).
Guardiola, who had been suffering from back pain, underwent surgery in his native Spain last month and was sidelined for three weeks.

During Guardiola’s absence, assistant coach Juanma Rillo led the team as acting manager.

City has played two Premier League games without Guardiola. The defending champions defeated Sheffield United (2-1) and Fulham (5-1) to extend their winning streak to four games to open the 2023-24 season.

The City squad returned to action after the international break. With Guardiola back in charge, City will look to make it five straight league wins when they host West Ham on Sept. 16.

They then host Zvezda (Serbia) the following Tuesday in the first leg of their 2023-24 UEFA Champions League (UCL) group stage. Zvezda is Hwang In-beom’s new club. 스포츠토토

Guardiola’s side won the Premier League, the Football Association (FA) Cup, and the UCL Champions League last season, completing the so-called ‘triple’.

This season, they are one of the favorites to win the league and Champions League again.
