KT pulls off a dramatic come-from-behind win over LG.

KT Wiz won a game against the LG Twins in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League on September 6 at KT Wiz Park in Suwon, South Korea.

KT won the game with a 3-4 walk-off victory. KT avenged the previous day’s loss and cut its lead over LG back to 5.5 games.

The game was a pitcher’s duel between KT’s Benjamin and LG’s Kelly. Both starters pitched perfect innings to keep the score at 0-0. The score remained 0-0 until the fifth inning.

It was LG who broke the tie. LG scored the first run in the top of the sixth inning. One out later, Shin Min-jae led off with a single, and a hit-and-run maneuver put runners on first and third with Kim Hyun-soo at the plate.

Austin then hit a big shot just over the right field foul line, and KT right fielder Kim Min-hyuk made the catch, allowing Shin to score from third. It was an off-balance sacrifice fly by Austin. LG advanced Kim Hyun-soo to second on a wild pitch, but Moon Bo-kyung grounded out to end the threat.

KT had runners on second and third in the bottom of the seventh after Park Byung-ho singled, an error by the opposition, and a wild pitch by substitute Kang Baek-ho, but substitute Kim Jun-tae was thrown out at the plate.

LG added another run in the top of the eighth. After a walk, Shin Min-jae led off with a single and advanced to third on a stolen base and a throwing error. Kim Hyun-soo then singled over the first baseman’s head to bring in Shin Min-jae.

KT had a golden opportunity in the bottom of the eighth. The leadoff batter, Choi Jae-dae, drew a walk and two batters later, Hwang Jae-gyun singled. Then, a foil by the opposing battery put runners on second and third. A single would have tied the game. However, Alford struck out to end the threat.

LG added a run in the top of the ninth after Kim Min-sung and Park Hae-min singled to put runners on first and second, and Hong Chang-ki hit a double to bring in pinch-hitter Jung Ju-hyun.

In the bottom of the ninth, KT scored one run on a double by Moon Sang-chul and a single by Jang Jang-woo, and one more on a walk by Park Kyung-soo and an RBI single by Choi Byeong-dae. Kim Min-hyuk grounded out with the bases loaded, but in the bottom of the inning, Hwang Jae-gyun’s grounder to third base bounced off the glove of LG third baseman Moon Bo-kyung, sending two runners home.

KT starter Benjamin continued his strong performance for LG with seven innings of one-run ball. In addition to Benjamin, Son Dong-hyun pitched one inning of one-run ball, Kim Young-hyun pitched 0.2 innings of one-run ball, and Jo Jo-hyun pitched 0.1 innings of scoreless ball. 소닉카지노

LG starter Kelly pitched a season-high seven scoreless innings, but couldn’t get the win. Kim Jin-sung pitched 0.2 scoreless innings and Baek Seung-hyun pitched 0.1 scoreless innings in the eighth, but Go Woo-seok took the loss.
