Can Suwon FC capitalize on their physical advantage?
Suwon FC and Incheon United will meet in the 28th round of the Hana OneQ K League 1 2023 at Suwon Sports Complex at 7 p.m. on May 25. Suwon FC is in 10th place with 26 points, while Incheon is in 6th place with 37 points.
Suwon FC is having a difficult year in many ways. Head coach Kim Do-gyun hasn’t been able to implement the attacking style of soccer he wants, and Suwon FC has been struggling compared to the previous two seasons. They are currently in the relegation battle for the first time since being promoted to the K League 1 in 2021.
With even a 10th-place finish in doubt, key striker Ras was caught driving under the influence of alcohol, making Kim Do-gyun’s head hurt even more. Without a reliable striker, the crisis really hit home with a heavy 0-3 loss at Jeju United.
Fortunately, they bounced back with a brace from Lee Seung-woo and a dramatic goal from Yoon Beom-garam to take the three points against Gangwon FC in the previous round. Suwon FC is still one of the most defensively shaky teams in the K League 1, but it’s good to see that their defense has been able to keep them in the title race lately.
Incheon, on the other hand, has come alive towards the end of the season. In their nine games since July, they have six wins, two draws, and one loss. They’ve even caught first-place Ulsan Hyundai. The signing of Mugosa is starting to pay off, and recently, Jerso has been tremendous, leading the charge. Shin Shin-ho and Hernandez, who were sidelined with injuries, have also returned to the team, adding more momentum to keep the momentum going.
However, the only concern for the match against Suwon FC is physical strength. Incheon had only three days of rest after their 3-1 Asian Champions League (ACL) playoff victory over Vietnamese club Hai Phong FC on Feb. 22, which clinched the club’s first-ever trip to the ACL knockout stages.
During the summer season, one of the biggest concerns for managers and players alike is the variable of physical exhaustion. It doesn’t matter how good a team is, if they don’t have the stamina to play in the heat, they won’t be able to improve their chances of winning. Suwon FC will be well-rested after traveling to Gangwon on Sept. 19, so they have a bit more time to rest. 소닉카지노
The two teams have been unable to find a way past each other, having drawn six of their last seven matches. Incheon will need to control the variables of stamina and Suwon FC will need to control the variables of ups and downs if they want to win this game.
